Dynamics 365 Takes No Prisoners with Expansion of Verifone Partnership

After its first wave of partnerships with Dynamics 365, Verifone Point will now expand to a global audience, beginning with Canada, through comprehensive Payment-as-a-Service (PaaS) option.

Proving a point about productivity

Whatever you want to say about Satya Nadella, he means it when he says that Microsoft’s main organisational focus for the coming years will be to improve productivity. By this, he means that businesses, particularly in the western world, have failed to improve productivity despite rapid expansion. Microsoft’s job, then, is to tap into this and develop tools that help individuals, SMBs and large enterprises improve their work rate. It’s no easy task, but if anybody’s going to do it, it will be the business that brought you Microsoft Office. Availability of Verifone Point, a Payment-as-a-Service (PaaS) solution, will now extend to Microsoft Dynamics 365 users internationally beginning with Canada. The main aim of the project is to provide merchants big and small around the world with simplified, reliable and secure payment and commerce solutions. If they can offer this, they believe that they’ll improve the consumer experience at the point-of-sale (POS).

Bringing systems together

One of the largest challenges that retailers face in the 21st century is unifying all their various payment and e-commerce systems: vendors, payment device deployment and EMV certification with processors, compliance with ever-changing PCI standards and payment security. There’s a lot to think about. Now however, retailers around the world who are using Microsoft Dynamics 365 instore and online can manage their payment systems comprehensively inside of Verifone Point PaaS, which combines hardware, software and support services into one single solution. This is a big step for Dynamics 365, as Microsoft works to turn 365 into the ultimate solution for the retail sector. However, it’s an even bigger jump for Verifone. As Joe Mach, President of Verifone North America says: “Partnering with Microsoft Dynamics, we look forward to helping a greater number of retailers focus on their business and better serving customers instead of putting precious time and resources into managing their payment systems”

Crime fighting

As well as bringing a series of payment services together into one place Dynamics 365 has also provided risk-averse merchants with another brilliant service: end-to-end encryption to deter cybercriminals. This is one of the largest areas for concern in the 21st century, so for Microsoft and Verifone to make such a large issue of it is a logical and rational move.
