Are you an experienced financial leader with a passion for driving operational excellence? Our client, a leading company in the life insurance sector, is seeking a highly skilled Controller to join their dynamic Accounting and Finance Department. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in overseeing operational accounting, reinsurance accounting, and both Statutory and US GAAP reporting while contributing to the overall financial success of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and presentation of accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Manage reinsurance reporting, ensuring compliance with reinsurance treaties.
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls and ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations.
- Oversee accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Ensure timely and accurate tax compliance, and work with external tax advisors to minimize tax liabilities.
- Provide financial insights to support strategic initiatives and business decisions.
- Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team.
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. CPA required.
- Extensive experience in the life insurance industry, with a strong understanding of US GAAP and Statutory financial reporting standards.
- Proven leadership and strategic vision in managing accounting functions in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with financial software platforms such as Oracle, Power BI, or Clearwater.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
