At its Ignite event in Florida last week, Microsoft announced a suite of new features for Dynamics 365. One that peeked our interests is chatbots. Microsoft Ignite is an annual event for those working on Microsoft tech solutions to come together, share successful implementation stories and attend some of the 700+ sessions on offer. The event makes for the perfect place to reveal insight into new products and tools for Dynamics technologies, and Microsoft delivered a handful of newsworthy items – perhaps the most interesting being that chatbots are coming to Dynamics 365.

Introducing Dynamics 365 AI Solutions

Microsoft’s big pitch in recent years has been to deliver greater productivity to individuals, teams and businesses around the world – whatever their requirements. While Dynamics 365 has offered greater freedom and flexibility to all types of users, Dynamics 365 AI Solutions is set to transform organisations once again, promising that they will be able to “start even smaller”. The premise is that the longer a business waits to undergo digital transformation, the more challenging it is – so start small. Cortana, already built in to the software is “designed to tackle high value, complex scenarios – end to end.” This includes a virtual assistant for customer service that’s already used by Microsoft Support, HP Inc., and Macy’s. Now, this tech will be used in a new app that allows users to interact with a prebuilt chatbot designed to field customer service queries.

A targeted solution

With Dynamics 365 AI Solutions, Microsoft is looking to enhance its tailored, sector-specific offering with modular SaaS applications that let businesses “transform a single process”, like onboarding new employees. The first two apps will be Dynamics 365 for Talent: Attract and Dynamics 365 for Talent: Onboard. The first enables users to profile candidates in the hiring pool and achieve better insights. The second aims to help with onboarding, personalising resources, training and team connections. Microsoft has said they will also be releasing more of these products to customers in the near future. This means that users will be able to buy into a number of individual products without having to buy a larger package of features.
