Location: Sterling, MA (On-site)

Salary: $94,800 – $127,800 per year + Incentive Pay

Overview

An industry-leading manufacturer of electrical power connectors is seeking an Assistant Controller to oversee financial operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and lead a high-performing accounting team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional with strong leadership skills to play a key role in a growing organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Close Process

  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Develop and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and improve financial accuracy.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency.
  • Support audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.

Ledership & Team Development

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop an accounting team.
  • Provide performance feedback and drive team success.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture.

Accounting Estimates & Special Projects

  • Oversee reserves, accruals, and depreciation estimates.
  • Work closely with leadership on financial planning and business strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including team leadership.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
