Microsoft Inspire 2020, Microsoft’s global partner network annual live event has joined the tsunami of conferences that have been taking place not in an exhibition centre, but on Teams and Zoom, as the conference has taken place this week and is running a huge number of virtual sessions online.

One of the big pieces of news to come out of the first day is that Microsoft are making AI-powered improvements to Dynamics 365.

Microsoft Inspire gave us news about Connected Store, which launched in September, uses a mix of computer vision, cameras and IoT sensors to track customers inside stores and create bespoke,[if uk_office] personalised [/if] [if us_office] personalized [/if] recommendations. It can also improve store efficiency by providing insight, such as that more staff is required at checkout counters, identify store equipment-related issues, and give managers long-term trends.

Microsoft have announced new features for Connected Store, including Store Traffic and Curbside Queue, which enable a retailer to tackle pandemic-related challenges, by providing data that tells store managers when to limit capacity and help customers maintain a safe distance. Curbside Queue provides data to store managers on when vehicles are approaching the store, which means the instore team then have some time in which to prepare for a wave of customers.

Other new features include a SaaS app, on boarding and out-of-the-box set up.

Connected Store is now available for public preview.

Anti-fraud-wise, Dynamics 365 Fraud Prevention now offers a suite of new tools, titled Account Protection and Loss Prevention.

Account Protection helps to protect online revenue and credibility by counteracting fraudulent account entry, fake account formation and account development and by defending user accounts from misuse and fraud. Loss reduction helps to protect revenue by detecting sales fraud and discounts arising from omni-channel transactions, so that managers and analysts can take steps to reduce losses.
